A Lion Roaring Over America
Can you hear the sound?
I hear the sound of a lion roaring over the United States of America. It’s not just a lion, it’s THE Lion, the Lion of Judah.
I saw the Lion, bold and strong. There was a wind pushing the air surrounding Him, it was a whirling and whistling wind. His mane is full and colorful, it was as if He, himself, was the coat of many colors given to Joseph by his father in Genesis 37.
The Lion of Judah was standing over the American flag, which, was flowing with the wind and it was transposed over the land and oceans surrounding the United States.
I saw His mouth open wide with sharp and brilliant white teeth. The roar came out forcefully and with a multiplicity of tones like the sound of music over the land and sea and it infiltrated every cave and crevice of the country.
Mountains and prairies rumbled as the vibrations hovered and saturated the earth. The many waters, lakes, streams, and rivers were troubled (as the waters were troubled [stirred] in John 5, when the Angel of the Lord went down in certain seasons before the healing of the began), and the Spirit moved across the waters.
The Lion of Judah was roaring, as true authority was resting over the United States of America.
I began to hear a song in my spirit, it’s an older song called Victory Chant, a worship song proclaiming victory in Jesus name (it can easily be found by a simple internet search).
I see a victorious King of Kings ruling and reigning. He is releasing the sound and power of His all-knowing, all-powerful, ever-present presence over the USA. This is a season of divine alignment.
The TRUE BATTLE is over RIGHTFUL AUTHORITY.
Ephesians 6:12 (NASB) For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Jesus is the name above every name, His name bears all-authority. A time has come for crooked ways to be made straight. His roar is loud and mighty and it’s saying enough is enough and the declaration is being made, “Be restored and reconciled to your original creation, bearing MY image.” It reminds me of a Luke 3 moment:
Luke 3:4-6 (NASB)
4as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet,
“THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS,
‘MAKE READY THE WAY OF THE LORD,
MAKE HIS PATHS STRAIGHT.
5‘EVERY RAVINE WILL BE FILLED,
AND EVERY MOUNTAIN AND HILL WILL BE BROUGHT LOW;
THE CROOKED WILL BECOME STRAIGHT,
AND THE ROUGH ROADS SMOOTH;
6AND ALL FLESH WILL SEE THE SALVATION OF GOD.’”
When the Lion roared everything began to change and the earth began to tremble and stir. When the sound of the Lion is heard across the land, everything begins to come into alignment. When alignments begin to move toward their proper place, though, there is lots of noise and apparent chaos.
What does this mean for us? Many are wondering what is going on. It seems as Americans some of our greatest fears are seeming to come to pass and our country appears to be in shambles.
I hear the Lord repeating the phrase, “Do not be afraid,” or “Do not fear,” repeatedly over the United States. My guess is that we do not know how often we are functioning from our fears, lies we believe about our identity and our collective wounds as Americans.
In the last 6 months the United States has been under extreme pressure dealing with the novel corona virus (covid-19) pandemic. Where I live, in California, we have been under stay-at-home orders, mass shut-downs, quarantines, and more.
Where there is pressure, there is a refining fire happening in every aspect of our body, soul and spirit as we are all complex beings. In light of that pressure, the ugliest and the most beautiful parts of ourselves rise to the surface revealing what needs to be addressed in our personal lives and in our cultures. In the process we discover what needs to change, what needs to remain, what needs to be discarded and what needs to be discovered.
I’ve been asking in prayer, “Lord, help us. What are you doing? What do I need to know? What do I need to do or communicate?” Romans Chapter 8 continues to come to me repeatedly. Freedom from bondage seems to be in the Lion’s roar.
Romans 8 NIV
18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.
I want to offer you some of the things highlighted to me that He is calling into alignment by His own authority, with His heart and His intent towards us. I believe the earth in longing for vision and course correction, identity and purpose.
Of course, the word RESET has been on the lips of the prophets, including my own vision of things for 2020 I shared in my December 22, 2019 blog post Declarations and Insights for 2020 included a “reset” word, speaking of a year CONSECRATION and REBOOT, among other significant words. Holy Spirit is RESHAPING what we have known and RESURRECTING that which has been dead. Here are some areas that seem to have some Holy Spirit fire on them now.
Three Areas of Authority
As I mentioned above the battle is over rightful authority. There are three main battlefields of authority where there is a great deal of action and warfare taking place.
Battlefield 1: The Family Foundation
Family is key to the plan of God for eternity. God thinks in terms of generations, bloodlines, adoption. Those are themes throughout the old and new testaments. There has been a battle over the family since the garden with Adam and Eve in Genesis. You can see the disintegration of family in every little way. What has skyrocketed during the pandemic? Domestic violence. Divorce. Abortion. Domestic terrorism (rioting, destruction). Fatherlessness. Trafficking, you can research the statistics. Believe it or not, all of these issues are not the problem. They are a product of a broken root system. They are a SYMPTOM of the broken foundations of family. These broken root systems are feeding society with rotten food or no nutrients at all.
Solutions: The healing of the family is the revealing of the family. Dare to dream with God for ways to touch the hurting. Breaking bondages and building bridges is far more effective than shaming and blaming. I believe God is dispensing strategies to heal the wounded and display His glory through you. I see adoptions rising, red tape being cut, and favor being poured out on those who are seeking solutions and opening storehouses of resources for those who actively make faith-filled moves for restoration and reconciliation. What is in you to do?
Battlefield 2: Education Reformation
Education is the way we communicate to current and upcoming generations. We communicate our belief systems, our history, facts, technology, discoveries, impart learned skills and more. Education is creating the narrative of history. The battle over education is critical now because education will create the direction we will go for several generations. Education can define “truth” as we know it. We are in the information age and have access to more information on a daily basis that the average person did in their lifetime just one generation ago. When this generation passes away, how will our textbooks reflect who we were as a people, as Americans? I am afraid for a future generation who cannot access our history, good or bad because we have re-written it. We are doomed to repeat that which we do not acknowledge.
How many of you are dissatisfied with the status quo? How many have complained about the insufficiencies of our public-school and private school systems, teachers and curriculum? How many have either watched your children slowly have parts of their education disappear such as music and art classes? How many of you never had the privilege of having those experiences in school? How many teachers out there are not receiving the proper tools for your classroom or received the type of training or compensation required to give your best to your students?
Solutions: Perhaps this is the urgent and opportune moment to make a change, be the change? There are those of you who dream of a more well-rounded education, an education loaded with practical application for real life. American parents and their kids are plagued with hours of homework, yet, dream of more family time after school. Kids often come home from being taught beliefs and values not reflecting those of the family. Isn’t it time for an education reformation? What network can you start? What skills do you have? Can you be a safe learning haven for the kids in the neighborhood whose parents have had to return to work while schools are still closed? Some of you who homeschooled their kids way back are highly sought after. It’s your time to shine!
Battlefield 3: Governmental Regeneration
Governmental systems are the way we rule and reign in society. It is more than just rule of law and a set of rulers. Government is like a red light and a green light. It is the stop and the go of the people. Government gives a shape and a function in society. It is a voice of justice and peace. The battle is big in the heavenly realm because, as I mentioned it earlier, the battle is over RIGHTFUL AUTHORITY!
In this election year in the USA, there is a tremendous battle in the natural realm over leadership in governmental systems. Some of you may be tempted to think this is a battle between democrats and republicans. Or others may think war between conservatives and progressives, socialists and Marxists, Christians and atheists, liberals and anarchists arising. NOPE. “but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” That’s all smoke and mirrors, Friends.
Solutions: Government is changing, and the old guard is passing away. Former systems we have placed our trust in are failing. In some cases, our government and our patriotism have become our god. Yes, I said it. It is what idolatry looks like. Can you catch a vision for a governmental regeneration? Can you imagine a rebirth or a renewal of our governmental structure? You may have already come to understand this, even if you cannot articulate it. Can you dare to begin to ask God what it would look like for His kingdom to truly reign in our government? There is a forerunning spirit being released to overthrow the jezebel spirit saturating our nation. This battle is manifesting in our streets, we are failing to discern it. You, with eyes to see and ears to hear will begin to see solutions where the media is telling tales of problems. Your battlefield is ripe with fruit for the harvest. Can you see a regeneration forming? Can you catch the kingdom revelation in the atmosphere? What is your role? Are you supposed to run for office?
I want to leave you with a final verse to meditate on as you rise above the battlefields in worship and prayer and spiritual warfare. I want to remind you that we war from victory not for it.
Romans 8
37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
